Melissa went to school and got her degree in architecture, because someone told her she’d never be able to do it. She graduated in 1996 from Penn State University and moved forward seeking a climate change. Melissa relocated to Phoenix where she took her first class in metal smithing. She enjoyed it, but couldn’t take the heat. Everyone she knew lived on the east coast, so she moved further west, first to San Francisco then to Portland. She is no longer working as an architect, but still stubborn and still making jewelry!
