Janine DeCresenzo Artist Reception

One Night Only – Thursday, October 1, 4:00-8:00

Destined to become an heirloom, gifted from generation to generation, Janine’s designs transcend time. While her body of work constantly evolves and continues to grow, it does not change by the season or with style trends. This, Janine believes, is the major difference between Jewelry as Art versus fashion jewelry. Starting with a simple sheet of silver, designs are cut, formed and fabricated, evolving into wearable art. Hand cut coral speckled with bezel set stones compliment pierced silver forms. Janine’s creations are works of art that you will love to wear.

The coral Janine uses is old, found years ago by her Grandmother on one of her many trips. Janine has always been inspired by aquatic life and feels more relaxed and herself near the water. Using the coral in jewelry is her ode to the sea, giving it another life. In her studio Janine is an engineer, an inventor, and a scientist, working to create jewelry that has a history and tells a story. Jewelry ages with the wearer, gradually picking up patterns from their life. Janine wants those who wear her jewelry to be comfortable with it, and at the same time, she wants each piece to make a statement.

“I have always loved jewelry. I was one of those kids that would spend hours picking up shells and rocks. I would then take it one step further and systematically clean them with a toothbrush, sand and polish them till I had tiny little gems. Little did I know, I would be doing the same thing as an adult.” shared Janine.

Champagne and Light Appetizers will be provided.
